A small, free-standing cross sitting in the quadrangle — the space between your heart line and head line — not touching either. The classic position is roughly in the center of the palm.

4. The Double Life Line / Line of Mars (≈1 in 20 hands)

A second, fainter line running just inside your main life line, on the thumb side. Sometimes called the sister line or the Line of Mars.

How to check your own hand for rare marks

Three practical tips for finding these:

Use raking light. Hold your palm near a window or lamp at an angle. Rare marks — especially stars, triangles, and the mystic cross — show up far better in side-light than in flat overhead light.
Check your dominant hand first, then compare. Your dominant hand (the one you write with) shows what your life has activated. A rare mark there is "live." The same mark only on your non-dominant hand is "latent" — a potential not yet expressed.
