How to read the timing — the honest method

This is the part most readers skip, because it asks for nuance. The classical method places the timing scale between the heart line and the base of the little finger: that vertical strip is read as the late twenties at the bottom (just above the heart line) through the late fifties near the finger.

Roughly:

• Just above the heart line, low on the percussion → early-to-mid twenties
• Middle of the strip → late twenties to mid thirties
• High, close to the base of the little finger → forties and beyond

• A clean, straight, strong line — a stable union, well-matched temperaments, durable love.
